Position: Warehouse Associate (Days)

Shift/Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM 

Location: #153-12757 Vulcan Way, Richmond, B.C.

Start Date: Immediate

Responsibilities:

Forkllft Operator:

  • Reports to the shipping office at the beginning of each shift for the daily assignment, vehicle inspection sheet and replenishment discrepancies sheet.
  • Inspects assigned lift and completes vehicle inspection sheet.
  • Replenishes pick slots using the view request screen. If no requests exist, uses the manual replenish screen to fill empty or almost empty slots.
  • Performs replenishments for order selectors when needed. 
  • Performs all pallet-sorting duties
  • Maintains correct counts and logs any discrepancies in inventory.
  • Verifies that the correct product is being put in the appropriate pick location.
  • Perform Putaway tasks as required.

Receiver:

  • Checks with supervisors or leads at the beginning of the shift to discuss any issues or changes in the daily procedure.
  • Verifies quantities of product received against the packing slip/purchase order.
  • Checks and reports any damage found due to refrigeration, travel or handling by inbound freight company.
  • Sorts or breakdowns all incoming products
  • Builds steady and secure pallets to be put into back stock reserves.
  • Wraps pallets whenever necessary.
  • Ensures that all labeling of product and pallets are accurate for put-away in proper pick slot or back stock location
  • Keeps area clean and debris out of work area; ensures a safe working environment.
  • Inspects assigned jack for safety issues. Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Wears personal protective equipment as required.
  • Reports to supervisor or lead any violation of company policy.
  • Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.

Experience (required and/or preferred):

  • At least one (1) year previous experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Able to stand and work on feet for extended periods of time in a cool, damp environment.
  • Certification to operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jack/walkie rider heavily desired.
  • Able to read and correctly interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • High regard for safety.
  • Able to safely operate forklift(s) and pallet jacks/walkie rider.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position.  Placement within the compensation range, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including geographic location, education, experience, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.  UNFI is committed to transparency in pay in compliance with applicable state and local laws.
