Join our team as a Sanitation Associate in our Concord facility!

Position: Sanitation Associate (Full Time Afternoons)

Shift/Schedule: Sunday to Thursday 3:00 PM - 12:15 AM

Location: 8755 Keele Street, Concord, ON

Start Date: Immediate

Language Requirements: English

Job Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning the distribution center (75%) and corporate office (25%)
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors; dusting, washing walls, doors and windows, and emptying trash.
  • Operates floor scrubber
  • Sweeps and vacuums dock plates, sanitation barriers
  • Empties garbage bins from all locations in the cooler, freezer, loading docks, offices, and break rooms.
  • Empties cardboard and plastic recycling and compacts.
  • Keeps all areas free of debris such as wood fragments, pallet wrap, labels, and paper.
  • Discards leaking product and records on reconditioning log.
  • Reports any violations of company policy to supervisor or coordinator.
  • Performs duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.
  • Reports major repair and maintenance needs. Assist with snow removal.
  • Performs other job duties as required.

Qualifications:

Experience: 

  • Previous Cleaning/Sanitation experience in a warehouse, food manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Able to work in different temperatures inside the warehouse including Dry Section, Cooler Section, and Freezer Section ( -20 C°)
  • Able to lift up[ to 50 lbs when required.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for long periods of time
  • Understands Safety guidelines.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers
  • Ability to operate a Walkie Rider / Electric Pallet Jack to transport and dispose garbage.
  • Understands procedures in different areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for long periods of time
  • Able to work independently and part of a team

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position.  Placement within the compensation range, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including geographic location, education, experience, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.  UNFI is committed to transparency in pay in compliance with applicable state and local laws.
